Six Apart Expands Weblogging Offerings in Japan
SAN MATEO, Calif., July 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Weblogging software leader Six Apart announced that it is providing the company's popular TypePad(TM) Service to Hitachi, Japan's largest manufacturing company, for Hitachi's "BOXER BLOG powered by TypePad(TM)" for business users. In addition, Six Apart announced the availability of TypePad Japan, a self-branded version of their popular weblogging service optimized for Japanese users.
Hitachi began offering its BOXER BLOG Weblogging Service to its business and corporate users in Japan on July 1, 2004. The service is a fully featured weblogging service available in two versions: "Pro," a service for advanced individual business users and small businesses and organizations; and "Business Class" which provides greater amounts of bandwidth and disk space for larger corporate users.
Six Apart launched TypePad Japan this week. For the first time, Japanese users are being offered the popular TypePad service directly from Six Apart, with a Japanese interface and customer service in Japanese. In addition, customers are able to purchase the service in Japanese currency. The company is offering special introductory pricing until September 30, 2004.
