RANE CARVES SUCCESS WITH TQM TOOL (the implementation of TQM has led to 3 companies of the Rane group winning the coveted Deming Prize till now)
(India Business Insight)The Rane group, automotive components manufacturer, began implementation of the Japanese operational excellence tool TQM in 1999.
The implementation of TQM has led to 3 companies of the group winning the Deming Prize till now. Rane Brake Lining was the first company in the group to get the Deming Prize in 2003. In 2005, Rane Engine Valves Ltd (REVL) and Rane TRW Steering Systems won the prize. The sales of REVL increased from Rs90 crore in 1999-2000 to Rs165 crore in 2004- 2005. New products rose from 14 to 51.
In the case of Rane TRW, the income increased from Rs97.9 crore to Rs310 crore.
