Teleste launches complete hybrid TV solution

Teleste, a player in broadband cable networks, has announced the
industry's first complete hybrid TV solution along with Teleste MyCast,
the cornerstone to its hybrid TV concept.
Teleste MyCast is an advanced solution for managing, creating and
distributing TV channels and DVB-only, IPTV-only and hybrid DVB/IPTV
video services over HFC (hybrid fibre-coaxial) and a full range of
broadband (EttH/FttH/xDSL) networks.
The MyCast announcement complements Teleste's existing line-up, and
together with the previously announced Luminato head-end platform,
enables the company to offer a complete hybrid TV solution.
Teleste's hybrid TV solution includes components for the whole process
of delivering video services to consumers from content acquisition and
service creation to delivery through a range of access solutions,
including HFC (hybrid fibre-coaxial), xDSL, EttH, and FttH.
With MyCast, different types of operators can both create new IPTV
services and enhance existing cable TV with new interactive services,
such as adding VoD (Video-on-Demand) to unidirectional networks.
Teleste Hybrid TV Solution is based on open standards and works with a
variety of transport technologies, network architectures, head-ends,
and back-end systems, and can be easily integrated with operators
existing broadcast systems. This enables operators to easily deploy
IPTV without a need to change to their whole network infrastructure,
the company explained.
