Kolkata, Nov 04, 2008 (Asia Pulse Data Source via COMTEX) --
The total offerings dropped to 63,314 packages, comprising 33,619 packages of CTC, 26,327 packages of Orthodox and 3,368 packages of Darjeeling teas, over the last week's total of 1,34,403 packages.
There was a good demand for CTC offerings this week. Assams were tended irregularly easier. All Dooars also followed a similar trend. Major blenders and Tata Tea were lent good support. There was less enquiry from the other internal and local sections. Exporters were operated on the larger brokens and fannings.
Orthodox offerings also saw good demand. Selected well-made Whole leaf and brokens were sold at irregularly easier rates. Remainder were lower. Fannings remained steady. HUL was active. Middle East and CIS were the mainstay of the market.
Darjeeling teas met with good demand last week.
