Keith Thomas joins immixGroup as Director of Forensic Services, responsible for operation of the forensic laboratory, client consultations, providing expert testimony, and managing the staff of forensic examiners. Additionally, Mr. Thomas conducts forensic examinations of conventional as well as unconventional electronic media and has earned a reputation from twenty-one years in law enforcement. He possesses a comprehensive technical background, receiving certifications as a Field Forensic Examiner from the Department of Defense (DoD) as well as the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Mr. Thomas worked on numerous classified investigations for DoD, assisted multiple federal, local, and state law enforcement agencies, and developed several training courses relating to computer forensics. He is co-author of a comprehensive two-week advanced computer forensic training course and a one-week introduction course developed for forward deployed members of various government and DoD agencies.
Mr. Thomas is a recognized expert in the field of cellular phone forensics, authoring a one week training course which is incorporated into numerous training programs with various government agencies, and assisted the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in its review of cell phone forensic software, procedures, and methods. He is certified in federal court as an expert witness and testified in dozens of cases relating to computer forensic investigations he conducted, both as a NCIS Special Agent and in the private sector.
