'Axione awards fibre equipment, services contract to Alcatel'

French local public broadband service provider Axione has awarded a
contract to Alcatel-Lucent for Ethernet, IP/MPLS and FTTH equipment and
services. Alcatel will provide project management, network design,
installation, integration and maintenance services to allow Axione to
offer triple-play services in the 11 departments and cities where it
holds public service outsourcing contracts. Advanced services will
include virtual leased line and virtual private LAN services for
business customers. Alcatel will also deliver fully tested, integrated
FTTH network solutions. Axione, part of Bouygues subsidiary ETDE,
specialises in the building and operation of broadband and high speed
broadband networks for telecommunications operators and local
communities in the scope of their digital development projects on the
French territory.
