TrueBill Brings Next Gen Billing to Ring Carrier VoIP Solutions
The communications industry is in a state of perpetual flux, with new and exciting services and solutions being developed constantly. In their efforts to increase win new customers and retain existing ones, service providers are effectively in a “do or die” race to roll out those services that will attract new subscribers.

Of course, while products and services are the front line of attack, the ability to support these services is equally critical. The fact is that once a service is rolled out by the first provider, others will follow close behind. Thus, the ability to accurately and efficiently provide back-office support becomes a key element to success — including the end-to-end billing process, which becomes increasingly more complex with each new service.
Ring Carrier, which provides turnkey VoIP
solutions that allow network operators to support hundreds of VoIP customers on a single server, understands that in order to maximize its customers’ ROI and mitigate complexity, it needs to also provide an integrated billing solution. In fact, the prospect of hosting thousands of hosted PBXs and the associated endpoints means providing a billing solution is almost a must.
As such, Ring Carrier has now integrated Cylogistics’ TrueBill converged billing solution, which has been developed from the ground up specifically to meet the challenges of today’s evolving multi-service carrier environment. With the TrueBill solution, Ring Carrier customers will have a single package, integrated with their telephony solutions, that comprises and end-to-end billing platform, including pricing, packaging, rate quotes, invoicing, settlement, account management, reporting, and more.
“Ring Carrier is the most advanced softswitch
on the market and TrueBill handles the CDR seamlessly allowing the telephony providers to set up countless customer subscription plans which can utilize the various rates from any number of carriers,” said Don Witt, president of Cylogistics.
Key to the TrueBill solution is its ability to handle taxes — local, state, and national. While only a few states currently tax VoIP services, it’s a sure bet that the practice will soon become the norm, and TrueBill has now made it part of its capabilities.
With TrueBill’s easy-to-use interface, providers are able to easily add, remove, or modify and of the services customers require, including combining several services into a consolidated package. They can create a variety of billing parameters that reflect their service models and customer agreements, supporting multi-tiered billing, value- or volume-based models, pre- and postpaid, multi-currency requirements, and settlement.
“What makes this so significant for Ring Carrier is that TrueBill is very flexible and adaptable to the new billable technology that Ring Carrier will be introducing as a part of its total VoIP telephony solution over the next several months,” explained Ring Carrier president Paul Mahler. “TrueBill will allow our customers to take full advantage of the new features quickly and stay ahead of the market.”
With the development of converged, multimedia communications applications and services, the ability to maintain a versatile billing environment has to be part of the service standard for any service provider. With Ring Carrier’s scalable open source platform, providers will be able to easily create new revenue streams easily and inexpensively.
And though there are a variety of billing solutions available, TrueBill’s forward-looking engineering and user-friendly design mean Ring Carrier customers will be able to expand their offerings without fear of back-office limitations.
