IMIS TaskCentre Available from ASI

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Advanced Solutions International, a vendor of Web-based software for associations and non-profits, has announced the availability of iMIS TaskCentre, described by company officials as "a business process management module offering advanced business alerts, workflow, document automation and information on demand for iMIS 15."

The new module improves iMIS 15's ability to work with off-the-shelf, packaged software. Monitoring an organization's iMIS database and incoming e-mail, iMIS TaskCentre launches processes based on an organization's business rules.

Basically, this lets users notify staff or constituents when something happens, generate and publish documents, reports, and communications as a result of completed processes or on a schedule, or trigger responses to incoming communications.

The idea here is that more timely communication with constituents improves customer satisfaction, while significantly decreasing the workload of staff responsible for repetitive tasks such as updating basic contact information and taking action on opt-out requests.

Bob Alves, CEO of ASI, sums it up by saying "automating order confirmations, dues billing, event reminder e-mails, and staff notifications can free up hours of staff time."

Last spring the Alexandria, Virginia-based Advanced Solutions International announced the release of iMIS 15, which company officials touted at the time as a "complete, upgradeable, Web-based, not-for-profit and association business software system."

The iMIS 15 product suite provides customer relationship management (CRM), Web site management, marketing communications, fundraising program control, events and education planning, order and inventory processing, billing and financial functions, and business intelligence capabilities.

That version of iMIS, company officials said at the time, provides "an easy upgrade path for more than 2,500 companies using iMIS, representing 30,000 staff users and millions of Web users." ASI is also marketing itself as providing "an easy transition from legacy systems to the iMIS 15."

The product uses Microsoft's (News - Alert) .NET development platform. New features in the initial release of iMIS 15 include browser-based views of iMIS for staff, casual, and public users, improved installation and log-in functionality; and the iMIS System Architect, described by company officials as "a set of administrative and development tools that provide improved product flexibility."

In the summer of 2006 ASI completed a partnership agreement with Boxwood Technology to provide iMIS customers with Boxwood for iMIS, described by ASI officials at the time as an "outsourced job board service directly integrated with iMIS."
